What an honor it is to witness to the most intimate moments of peoples’ lives. The acts of love, big and small, are pervasive at a young person’s Bar or Bat Mitzvah. Of those I’ve attended, I’ve experienced the most profound demonstration of love and community. I feel energized in this space and all the more hopeful about the future each time I see a young person read their portion of the Torah and talk about their learnings and the impact of their Tzedakah. This exchange between young person and community has always struck me as equal parts invigorating and remarkable.
