As a digital strategist I often follow my clients around while they work so I can generate real life content for them. I call it a Day in the Life. It’s a great way to deepen my understanding of their work and the folks they work with. No matter the distance, I love these adventures.
In the summer and fall of 2018 I spent a bunch of time with my pal, Kelly Lorenz, a seasoned New England-based wedding and family photographer (and the woman who photographed the adoption of our kiddos). The goal was to create videos of her in action. The subplot: get to know the world of wedding photography. I had been wanting to make this creative leap for a while and Kelly was gracious in mentoring me. When the student is ready, the teacher will appear, as they say.
In this album and the next, my role as student is reflected in the liberty I had in not needing to produce a traditional wedding album for the couple. You will see photos processed for creativity and exploration without the pressure of performance. They lack polish and as a result, each offers an alternative window into separate wedding day stories.
